Losing myself -- literally.

So, it's been a rough week.  Last Monday evening, I fell victim to an apparent 48 hour stomach bug. Thursday, I had an appointment, and Friday it snowed 2 feet.  Yes, I said 2 FEET.  To top that off, my twin boys succumbed to the cough that had plagued them both for a couple of weeks and now had fevers as well.  So off to the doctor we went.  Twice.  So with all of that going on, I made it to the gym twice last week and not since Wednesday. I made it to Zumba today (a week later), and boy was that PAINFUL.  But what I want to focus on is the fact that despite all of that, I managed to lose almost 3 lbs this last week.  Now I want to know how that happens???  Not only the lbs came off, but inches.  I think I lost almost 1/2 an inch off of my hips and thighs each this week.  I would like to say that this phenomena has been an encouragement, but on the contrary I find myself worrying that the lost pounds are lost muscle tone.  Does your body have memory, so that it continues to burn calories at an accelerated rate even if you don't workout (for a time)??  Is it just that the clean eating has finally kicked in??  Who knows?  I am not dumb enough not to count it towards my goal, but i will be talking to the trainer tomorrow....just in case.  :-)
